Project program

The DriveX project program is the long-form research track of the initiative. Each project organizes a sustained research effort around a specific scientific question, dataset effort, or deployment-facing system, while staying aligned with the broader DriveX program.

Projects complement DriveX workshops, the Grand Challenge, research assets, and seminars by providing a longer time horizon and a smaller, more focused research community per topic.

Project 01

CP-X — Cooperative Perception for Real-World Impact

A UCLA Mobility Lab initiative advancing cooperative perception (CP) technologies for real-world transportation systems.

CP-X develops cooperative perception systems that can operate reliably across diverse traffic and infrastructure scenarios — moving from research prototype to deployment-ready CP through simulation, digital twins, and experimental deployments. The program also anchors the Mobility Lab’s broader technology initiatives in smart intersections, connected vehicles, and other innovative mobility solutions.
